The first stage of this project included the construction of a new four-storey motel and two-storey function centre on Napier Street. Also known as the Quality Hotel Lakeside, the motel comprises of 58 new rooms, 23 on the first and second floors, and 12 on the top floor.

Due to the successful completion of the first stage, the Copulos Group awarded Nicholson Construction the stage two extension, with new under-croft car park at ground level, new entry/foyer, and renovation of the single-storey function centre, as well as 20 economy motel-style rooms.
