The new Bendigo Regional Hockey Centre Pavilion within the Garden Gully Sports Precinct was completed in April 2020.
This project consisted of the construction of a new pavilion and the refurbishment of the existing pavilion. The existing pavilion will house two refurbished change-rooms with showers and toilets as well as new umpires change-rooms.
The $3,500,000 project includes a large covered viewing area and platforms to the hockey fields, with tiered seating.
The new pavilion was constructed and is made up of two levels next to the existing building. Upstairs will be a social room, office, toilets, kitchen/kiosk and meeting room, and external viewing decks looking over the two pitches. Downstairs will house a further four change-rooms with toilets and showers, plus extensive storage areas for the tenant hockey clubs.
A large multipurpose space with dividers to create smaller spaces has views over the fields also. A kitchen/kiosk was completed with servery to outdoors also.
Meeting rooms and amenities for spectators was also included.
Now with the above project completed, due to the upgrade and expand Centre’s facilities, improving its capacity to support the local growing hockey community and is now eligible to host, national and international hockey events for years to come.
