Heritage repair works were needed to the façade of the historic Ballarat Town Hall. Previous non-traditional work and materials were removed, and repairs undertaken to classic modillions, bottles, parapets, sills and ledges.
New hand cut stonework was required for the feature pediment as well as the replacement of non-heritage glass louvres in the Bell Tower, and restoration of the Town Hall clock face.
Specialist trades were employed for the project including stonemasons, lime renderers and blacksmiths. Each undertook critical and very specific elements of the restoration.
