Ballarat Art Gallery to feature in Architechture Australia magazine

This month the Ballarat Art Gallery Annex has been a featured article in Architecture Australia magazine. This is the premier magazine for the Architectural industry and has great coverage across Australia with a circulation at around 15,000 copies.

With photographs of the project taken by John Gollings and feature article by Anna Johnson provides a good synopsis of the project. This project a credit to all involved and this coverage in such an important publication is something to be proud of.

Nicholson Construction wins $18m UB Tech contract

Manufacturing Technology Training Centre

Nicholson construction has been awarded the $18m contract to construct the Manufacturing Technology Training Centre for the University of Ballarat. This project will create around 20 new jobs in Ballarat and be one of the largest we've undertaken.

This amazing new facility will allow the University of Ballarat to provide training at the highest possible standard by utilising the latest manufacturing technology. Using this facility year 11-12 students will be able to obtain VCAL qualifications with the manufacturing centre providing training in engineering.

October

Mast removed from the Australian Centre of Democracy.

Works are continuing on the $6m redevelopment of the Australian Centre of Democracy (formerly known as the "Eureka Centre") where an extension to the facility will provide enhanced exhibition and interpretation space.

Nicholson Construction recently removed the 54m mast from the existing building. The demanding task required the use of a 300 Tonne crane with a pair separate support cranes assisting the process. This event marks a new stage of works on the centre with the mast set to be replaced so the Eureka flag can once again be viewed across the city.

Wannon Shire Offices Demolished to make way for newhospital development

The former Wannon shire offices in Coleraine were demolished this month to make way for the new Coleraine hospital development.Wannon Shire Offices

The shire offices were successfully dismantled in only one day to prepare the site for the new construction to take place. The Wannon shire vacated th

e offices after shire amalgamation in 1994 and the site will be developedinto Western District Health Centres Coleraine campus.

Demolition proceeding smoothly at the Australian Centre for Democracy.

Courier Article- Eureka Centre 2011The internal demolition process is running smoothly at the Australian Centre for Democracy with what was the rear wall removed to make way for the extensive redevelopment of the structure.
A 300 tonne crane is being installed in preperation for the removal of the centres iconic mast and replace it with a new structure.

Nicholson Construction awarded Eureka redevelopment contract.

Nicholson Construction has been awarded the 5.6 million dollar redevlopment contract for the Australin Centre for Democracy.
The prject will generate 12 new local jobs and is set to begin at the end of this month. Nicholson Construction is very proud to be working on such an important community project and is passionate about helping to preserve a key part of Ballarats heratige.

Nicholson Construction Frontrunner for Australian centre for Democracy contract.

Nicholson construction has been recomennded for the 5.6 million dollar contract for the redevelopement of the Eureka centre in Ballarat.
The project is part of 11.1 Million dollar revitaliasation of the eureka site and is a key project for ballarats economy bringing new jobsand more business for local suppliers. Director Richard Nicholson says to be recommended for such a historical project makes the whole team proud to be Ballarat locals.

Grange Residential Care Centre upgrade underway!

On the 27th of June Nicholson construction began the Grange Residential care unit's upgrade. Western District Health Services CEO Jim Fletcher says that the Grange is one of the very few aged care facilities of its type in western victoria allowing residents to remain in the same place as their care needs change. This important upgrade to the Grange will allow more people to take advantage of this type of care.

Nicholson Construction awarded the $ 2.8m Grange residential care contract


The contract for the renovation and expansion of The Grange residential care facility was awarded to Nicholson Construction. The $2.8m contract will see an extensive redevelopment program which will involve the building of a new 7 bed wing, a new Kitchen and renovation of existing areas to provide more space for activities. Works are expected to commence late this month.

Nicholson construction awarded contract for Ballarat Art Gallery annex.


The $630,000 contract to build the Ballarat Fine Art Gallery's new annex has been awarded to us this month. The new space at the rear of the building will be part of the revitalisation of the camp street precinct. The space will be available for exhibitions, functions and performances. With one of its walls designed to open out onto Camp Street so it will also be available as a stage for public events. We are proud to be working on a project so vital to our cities culture.
